Promise to post about the trip to San Antonio, but for now, my Pin Collection!
Pins, Pins and More Pins!
I've been collecting Hard Rock Cafe pins for a long time. Over the past year, between my cross-country trip to San Francisco and then my move to Arizona, my collection has grown by leaps and bounds, so I decided to show them off and share the stories of where they came from.Cayman Islands, approx 2002 - My first ever Hard Rock pin. This is from approximately 2002. I had the opportunity to go to the Cayman Islands because my fiance at the time had an Aunt who lived there. We spent Christmas there with his Aunt, Uncle, parents, brother and brother's girlfriend. I got to scuba dive for the first time. It was also the first time I went outside of the country, except for Canada. Got a passport and everything!
Washington DC - 2006 -
Washington DC - 2006 Also specially made for the anime convention that year. Why a dragon? 'Cause they're cool!
Washington DC - 2007 - Another one from the convention in Washington, DC, but the following year. I don't really like it as much as the others. The yellow part at the bottom makes it look cheap and not really like a regular Hard Rock pin.
Washington DC - 2007 - Had to get the cute, pin Valentines Day one to make up for the crappy werewolf!
Washington DC - 2007 - Got the chance to actually go to the zoo in DC this year, so I also got the Panda pin to commemorate the visit.
Washington DC - 2008 - No custom pins this year for the convention, so I got another Valentines themed one. It opens up, kind of like a locket, but the hinge is at the top. Inside it says "You Rock My World. 2008"
Atlantic City - 2009 - Had a fun weekend in Atlantic City with my friends Lisa and Leah. We went for a weekend and explored the casinos, the board walk, did some shopping and went out dancing at night.
New York City - 2010 - Even though I had been to NYC multiple times before 2010, this was the first time I thought to get a Hard Rock pin! I went with Susan, her sister and her niece to go see Wicked. Even though Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith were no longer with the cast, it was still an amazing show.
Niagara Falls, NY - 2010 - One of the rare pins that I didn't purchase. Susan went to the casino with her friends and brought me home this pin.
Niagara Falls, Canada - 2010 - On the way to Toronto
Toronto, Canada - 2010 - Susan and I went to Toronto to see the Dalai Lama speak. The Hard Rock just so happened to have a Buddha pin at the same time. Not planned, but an amazing coincidence!
Niagara Falls, NY - 2011 - Random trip to see the falls. Decided to grab a pin while I was there.
Niagara Falls, NY - 2011 - Random trip to see the falls. Decided to grab a pin while I was there. It was just a little after Easter and they still had an Easter pin, so I snapped it up.
Cleveland, Ohio - 2011 - The first pin from my cross-country trip with Beth. That summer she was moving to San Francisco, from Rochester, and had to drive because of her kitties. I helped her out and we had an amazing time!
On this trip, I decided that I was going to have criteria for the pins I would buy. They had to have the year and they needed to have something to do with the location. The buzzards on this pin are because they have buzzards that migrate to and from an area in Cleveland every year.
All Access Club - 2011 - While in Cleveland, I joined the All Access Club to get a discount on all my pins. They gave me a free pin as part of the membership.
Chicago, Illinois - 2011 - Chicago's Hard Rock was having it's 25th Anniversary, so I bought this set that features the city's skyline.

Denver, Colorado - 2011 - I couldn't resist the pretty snowflake in Denver, even though there was no snow to be seen when we drove through.
Denver, Colorado - 2011 - This was such a pretty pin. Apparently, it's the state flower - the columbine.
San Francisco, California - 2011 - We finally made it to San Francisco! This pin depicts Lombard Street, the "crookedest road in the world." All the switchbacks are because it goes down a very steep hill. There are 8 switchbacks in the space of a single block.
San Francisco, California - 2011 - The Golden Gate Bridge, one of the first things we saw as we approached the city.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - 2011 - Another rare time where I did not purchase the pin. Susan went to Philadelphia to present on a poster she had done in her Master's program. Knowing my love of Hard Rock pins, she got this for me.

Orlando, Florida - 2012 - I took a 4th of July vacation with a bunch of friends. I went to Sea World, saw a Cirque de Soleil show, wandered around Downtown Disney and relaxed. Interestingly enough, I was at the first Hard Rock in Orlando a long time ago, when it first opened in Disney World. They closed that one down after a few years and then built a new one at Universal Studios, which is where this pin is from.
Indianapolis, Indiana - 2012 - First stop of the road trip as we moved from Rochester to Tucson. This pin theme is based on their local basketball team, the Pacers.
Indianapolis, Indiana - 2012 - This pin is part of a new "Postcard Series" that Hard Rock released this summer. Obviously, this one shows off their fame for hosting the Indy 500.
St Louis, Missouri - 2012 - Second Hard Rock of the trip. This is another one of the "Postcard Series." I was a little disappointed that the arch wasn't on it, though.
St. Louis, Missouri - 2012 - Picked this one up because I wanted something with the famous St Louis arch.
Tulsa, Oklahoma - 2012 - This one is not actually from a Hard Rock Cafe. This one is a casino / hotel. Inside was very flashy!!!

Phoenix, Arizona - 2012 - Phoenix wasn't actually on the way when we moved here, so I picked up this pin when I was in the Phoenix/Tempe area for a local interpreting conference. The state of Arizona turned 100 this year!
Phoenix, Arizona - 2012 - Phoenix wasn't actually on the way when we moved here, so I picked up this pin when I was in the Phoenix/Tempe area for a local interpreting conference. I think the desert and mountains are just so pretty.
Phoenix, Arizona - 2012 - Phoenix wasn't actually on the way when we moved here, so I picked up this pin when I was in the Phoenix/Tempe area for a local interpreting conference. This is the "Postcard Series" pin for Phoenix. Personally, I like my other Phoenix pins better.
Those are all the Hard Rock pins for now. I'm going to San Antonio, Texas soon, and the Hard Rock is right across from where I'm staying!! Also, I've started collecting National Park pins. I'll post about those another time.
